  • In order to have a smooth restart, the airport will not operate at full capacity the first days and will increase the capacity and activity as a suitable performance is ensured. This means that also during the conference, Brussels airport will only operate on reduced capacity.
  • Currently, flights have been deviated to Antwerp, Liège, Charleroi and Ostend. All are less than 150 km from Leuven. More information is provided below. These airports will continue to take part of the passengers during the next week. To which airport flights are being diverted depends on the airline company you are traveling with

  • Check with your airline company or travel agency what the status is at the moment that you are traveling. They will take you to either one of the satellite airports (Antwerp or Liège for SN Brussels airlines). In case they rebook you, or in case your flight is cancelled, the airline company that issued your ticket is responsible for an alternative arrangement.
  • Although that we believe that traveling to Belgium is quite possible, please take into account that there are likely delays and changes in your travel arrangements to some of you.
  • If you travel by train, there should be no problems.

Pay attention when travelling back: additional security measures in the railway station of Brussels-South (Brussels-Midi) are in effect. Please be present one hour before train departure time.

  1. Travel by public rail transport from Amsterdam Schiphol airport to Antwerp-Central or Brussels-Midi (Brussels-South) railway station. You can travel by high-speed rail (1.5 hours) or regular railway transport (3 hours).
  2. Take a train to Leuven from Brussels-Midi.
